5 Star IHIBRP Book Review: “A Song for a Soldier” by Emily Daniels

A Sweeping Drama That Will Enrapture & Captivate!

No man’s land separates two soldiers in a war that threatens to engulf the entire Western World as their sweethearts await their return in “A Song for a Soldier”. Daniel’s compelling tale about the Christmas Truce of 1914 balances perspectives from both sides, shining a light on how even the worst of enemies can still find common ground in dealing with the trials and tribulations of everyday life on one Silent, Holy Night.

In “Song for a Soldier”, Daniels switches between the battlefield and the home-front providing contrasting views of how everyday life goes on despite the horrors of war. Children are born, households are maintained, and holidays are celebrated while soldiers suffer terrible tragedies and loss in the name of liberty and justice—much higher ideals than what truly matters to them... their simple homes and families.

“Song for a Soldier” is a sweeping drama that will enrapture and captivate readers of most every genre. Daniels’ historical research is impeccable, her flair for the dramatic is enticing, her ability to build anticipation is captivating, and her beloved characters are genuine as well as completely endearing. I highly recommend this novel as an accompaniment to a History course including the events surrounding the 1914 Christmas Truce or simply for pleasure reading.

Congratulations to the author on this award-winning story! This novel will be permanently featured on my website at AuthorJBRichards.com under IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Reads!
