"Cadie and Samuel: In the Interim: A Children of Corvus Short Story (The Children of Corvus Boo

A Brief But Essential Backstory For Children Of Corvus Fans!

Overview: This quick backstory serves to enlighten L.E. Harrison’s readers regarding the complex emotional connection forged between Cadie Maxwell and Samuel Singleton during the interlude between the “Merula” and “Corvus” novels.

Cadie and Samuel, both come to terms with their histories and what their current roles mean to each other and within the context of the Tribe in this short story accompaniment to The Children of Corvus series by L.E. Harrison. While the community considers Samuel the ultimate threat to their people—a renegade god with the power to destroy them all—Cadie sees herself as a liaison and possible savior to both Samuel and her people. Complicating their relationship is Cadie’s fear that Samuel could lose control over his inner beast and destroy her, even though she finds herself singularly attracted and bound to this young man. It’s a plotline that guarantees plenty of angst for readers hoping that Samuel’s strong determination and love for Cadie will override his beastly nature and prevail.

“Cadie and Samuel” is clearly meant to further define these particular protagonists’ relationship within the framework of The Children of Corvus series. Although I question why the author chose not to include “Cadie and Samuel” as an insert to an updated edition of either “Merula” or “Corvus”, I am certain that this backstory will satisfy fan of the series just as much as it will appeal to first-time readers choosing this novel as a stand-alone read. Harrison defines the Tribe’s history just enough to explain the social, moral, and political challenges affecting the pair, even as she pens a passionate yet tense love story that will one day determine the future of their people.

I highly recommend “Cadie and Samuel” for ages 17 and up, along with a warning that this high-intensity, eye-opening glimpse into the world of The Children of Corvus will definitely draw you into reading the entire series. Yes... It’s that good!

Congratulations to the author on this award-winning story! This novel will be permanently featured on my website at AuthorJBRichards.com under IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Reads!
